Twin Palms Villa Tryall, Jamaica
The design for this extensive pool complex began as an idea on a cocktail napkin while on vacation. The owners were in the process of planning their new villa and not completely satisfied with the design their local architect had devised. The goal was to create a stronger connection between the main living quarters and the pool, which they saw as the hub of activity for the residence. The complex consists of three components; a main pool down below, and two secondary basins which serve as a hot tub and a kids’ pool. The secondary elements are connected to the main pool via tiered pie-shaped soaking baths, which act as water falls from the upper pools into the main infinity edge pool. The round palm tree planters act as hinge points for the soaking baths and soften the hardscape with vegetation.
