Mad For Mudrooms

January 26, 2021

Clutter. No one likes it, everyone has it. No matter how organized you are, there’s always…stuff.

We here at Slocum Hall are big fans of creating storage solutions. More storage means less clutter, a cleaner look and a space for everything. Mudrooms are a great place to ramp up your home’s storage space. Whether it’s a special cabinet for your furry friend, a place to keep all the shoes, coats and jackets, a space for all your cleaning supplies or just a series of “junk” drawers, a good mudroom can accommodate it all!

Below are some of our favorite mudrooms we’ve designed. Ranging in colors and styles, and light on the clutter!

Warm and Welcoming

This white and warm wood entry way mudroom is part of remodel of a townhouse in the South End. The home was in need for a more open  concept, and ample storage space for items that could be stored away, including a custom cabinet for the family’s cat.

Making a Bold Statement

This black large mudroom is part of the addition on a turn-of-the-century Newton Neo-Classical Revival home. This space serves as the connection between the garage and the original house on the lower level, allowing for modern functionality, while most of the home still pays homage to the home’s historic merits and rich character.

Green with Envy

This mudroom is the result of an addition of an 18th century farmhouse, situated on a large pond in Sudbury. The sage green gives the space a pop while maintaining the charm and authenticity of the home’s early New England roots.
