Moody Mudroom Design
January 30, 2024Color is officially in! Gone are the days when white walls and cabinets were the norm – bold and moody colors are having their moment in all different spaces of the home, from the kitchen to the bathroom and especially in mudrooms!
We’ve completed several projects recently where blue is the color of choice in mudroom spaces. Here are three very moody blue mudrooms that we can’t stop thinking about!
West Newton Hill
This true-blue mudroom was part of a renovation where we completely reconfigured the first-floor layout; we opened up all the adjacent spaces and updated the entire flow without expanding the original footprint. Even in a narrow space, this mudroom has plenty of storage for the whole family. Plus, the closed cabinets hide all the clutter!
Mudroom Design – Highland
This moody blue-gray mudroom gives this Dutch Colonial on West Newton Hill a “wow” moment. This mudroom is part of one of the three additions fusing modern design elements with the home’s original design; it provides access to a new detached garage structure. The mixture of open and closed storage allows ample storage and plenty of hanging room for the whole family!
Longfellow
This deep color gives a new perspective on what a mudroom can and should look like. Honoring the history of this stately Victorian, this extensive gut renovation and reconfiguration created an open, casual, and modern interior. The rich navy paint color is carried through the entire space, creating a special oasis in the corner of the home.
