Our Favorite Places to Ring in The New Year 

And just like that, we say goodbye to 2023! As we look ahead to the New Year, we’re reflecting on some of our favorite places we’ve designed for clients to ring in the new year.

In the Sun…

For some, the perfect way to ring in the new year is in the warm sun with the ocean breeze. Our clients at Twin Palms Villa in Tryall, Jamaica, envisioned a pool design that better related to the main living areas. The complex consists of three components: the main infinity pool below, two secondary upper basins that serve as a hot tub, and a kids’ pool, respectively. Two pie-shaped soaking baths act as waterfalls from the upper pools into the main pool. The result of this project is the ultimate in relaxation, with stunning views.

In the Snow…

For our clients in Stowe, Vermont, a perfect New Year’s is spent in the snow. This abandoned post and beam structure had been unfinished for years before we came in to upgrade the exterior and reconfigure the space. The front elevation was clad in Board and Batten siding and cleft stone. A grid detail in the front-facing gable and new portico brought further interest to the substantial façade. The reimagined interior now functions as a year-round vacation retreat with a strong emphasis on creating gracious but inviting spaces where family and friends comfortably congregate.

With some Friends at Home… 

If the snow and sun don’t suit you, and you’re all burned out from holiday cheer, maybe a nice relaxing night with a few friends at home is more your speed. For our clients in Weston, their basement space is the perfect place to ring in the new year with friends. This ‘informal’ entertaining area holds a full home bar, plenty of seating, and overlooks the exquisite spa room, with floor-to-ceiling windows and doors.
