Primary Bathrooms – A Homeowner’s Personal Oasis
September 30, 2024The primary bathroom is considered one of the most personal spaces in a home. It is where you prepare for the day and unwind at night. It is a sacred place; whether you have a limited footprint or endless space, the result should impart a sense of ease and tranquility.
Here are some of our favorite bathroom oases we’ve created for our clients.
Residence on Longfellow
When remodeling this Victorian, the primary suite was one of the main focuses of the new design. Constructed above a newly added first-floor office, the suite included transforming a former adjacent bedroom into a large dressing room. At the rear of the house, the roof was reframed to create additional head height in a previous attic space, allowing for an amazing primary closet and bathroom. The oversized, marble-clad, multi-head shower and freestanding soaking tub create a tranquil and luxurious space.
Weston Modern Prairie
Sometimes, you just don’t want to share. The clients for our Modern Prairie home decided that one primary bathroom wasn’t enough—each deserved their personal bathroom oasis. For the “her” bathroom, it’s the ultimate in self-care. The oversized walk-in closet is attached to the space, making the morning routine a seamless process. The single sink vanity sits on one side, while the oversized freestanding tub and makeup vanity sits on the other. The large steam shower anchors the space.
Residence on Bellevue
The primary suite on the second level of this award-winning historical renovation was formerly five different rooms: a sitting room, sleeping chamber, sleeping porch, bathroom, and closet. To create the ultimate luxury escape, the bathroom, which was formerly the sleeping porch, is now a beautiful marble-clad space. The best part? The unparalleled views of Downtown Boston!
As one of the premier Boston architectural firms, we’d like to hear about your next project.
