Follow the Build
We have had the privilege of working on some extraordinary projects throughout the years – everything from historical renovations to state-of-the-art new constructions, but it’s rare that we get to document a project in detail from start to finish. Slocum Hall Design Group Principal and Owner, David Boronkay, has taken on a major renovation and addition to his recently purchased home in Newton, giving us a special inside look at every step in the building, design and renovation process. Watch the progress on our social media and below as we follow the build from start to finish!
Welcome to the Newton project – in this video David provides insight into the two existing structures on the property and his plans for modernizing the home. Plus, he gives an inside look at connecting the two spaces together.
Walk through David’s vision for transforming this Newton house into his home, and including details on the features of this property that won him over.
In this video, David discusses the seasoned team he has in place, including Jeff and Alan at Concept Building and several contractors he has worked with on other projects, all working to make this house into his home!
The project is moving along! In this video, the windows are in, rough plumbing is fitted, heating and cooling are getting installed, rough electrical has started, and the roof is progressing. Exciting things ahead!
We have made a lot of progress on our Newton project. From insulation to exterior painting, David walks you through all the updates currently going on at his home!
As David inches closer to the finish line, he walks us through the current status of his own home renovation. The second floor is completely painted, and a balcony was created off the bedroom, giving the home as much outdoor living space as possible. Stunning light fixtures were installed throughout. The exterior is fully painted, and with the unseasonably warm weather, the hardscape, which had taken cues from the architecture of the house, is nearing completion.
