When this retired NY couple purchased a wooded waterfront lot, they wanted to build a home reflecting their love of classic modern style while referencing its Cape Cod roots. Soaring ceilings on the main level are spliced by a bridge on the second floor that features grid-patterned railings reflecting the gridded window pattern in the gables. Rooms on the lower level access a bluestone colonnade connecting to the pool and pool house. This house is intentionally designed for large-scale entertaining while providing weekend guests with private suites easily closed off from the main portion of the residence.
